Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, led by Katy (Wild & Wanderful) and Angelica (Gardening in High Heels). We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds.
This week's themes: Skipping, Mastering, Climbing, Encouraging, Modeling
Hey-oh, friends! It seems to me like I may have accidentally taken the entire summer off . . . What can I say, I'm the wife of a teacher, haha. And to be honest, I've been doing basically zero crafting or sewing this summer, so goodness knows what I would have wrote about anyway! I'm excited to get back into Middle River Studio. I love fall; to me it really feels like the beginning of a new year, and I'm ready to move forward with some new goals, ideas, and projects. Some exciting things ahead: I'm in testing for a few new fall patterns from George and Ginger, some non-sewing crafty projects to share, and maaaaybe some exciting news (along with a whole new wavelength of projects and posts) in the next few weeks-- stay tuned!
So, without further ado, my first Sunday Lately post in TEN weeks (cue guilty, disappointed music).
Skipping: Well, looks like I've been skipping all the general blogging, pattern tests, and strike-offs, all summer long. I gotta say though, it was nice to have a break. It was great to have some some quality family time and enjoy the summer. When you live in Northern Wisconsin, you wait all year for summer. These gorgeous times on Lake Superior remind you why you put up with the snow, the wind (oh, that frightful wind), and sub-zero temperatures.
Mastering: Check out this pile of library books! For whatever reason, my crafty soul has been desperate to crochet lately. In the past, I've toyed with knitting, crocheting, and of course those oh-so-trendy Knifty Knitters, but never really did a whole lot, or retained any amount of knowledge. Here's to mastering the hook!
Climbing: We did a two-night camping trip to Bayfield, WI this week. We had a gorgeous campsite right on Lake Superior, picked blueberries, and climbed some beautiful hiking trails. We all went to bed completely exhausted (especially Mike and I, I think).
Encouraging: Myself to make some new goals and kick off September right! You should be seeing a lot more of me again ;)
Modeling: Little Man G helped me model this strike-off from RP Custom Fabrics this past week. Nothing like having your Christmas jammies ready in August! My in-laws have a Christmas Tree farm, so I especially love this print.
